<p>The perfect way to enjoy brussel sprouts in the summer- add some barbecue sauce to them <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f609.png" alt="😉" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> Seriously these BBQ brussel sprouts are the perfect summer side dish for a cookout, barbecue, or a dinner when it&#8217;s too hot to eat outside (Aka Missouri right now haha). I love brussel sprouts in almost all forms but these hold a special place in my heart!</p>

<p>I am so glad brussel sprouts are more popular and trendy now- you can find them at a ton of different restaurants. But honestly I like to make them at home better because it can be hit or miss whenever you eat out. Plus who wants to spend $10 for a plate of like 5 brussel sprouts?! Making them at home ensures they&#8217;ll have the flavor you want and you&#8217;ll have enough for leftovers (maybe ;)) </p>

<p>I am 100% team crispy brussel sprouts, nothing ruins them more than when they&#8217;re overcooked and soggy. Those are the type of brussel sprouts I remember from my childhood haha. I&#8217;d like to personally thank the person who discovered that you should cook brussel sprouts differently than the old way of boiling them until they were mush haha. </p>

<p><span data-amount="0.25" data-unit="cup">1/4 cup</span> + 2 tbsp barbecue sauce ( I like <a href="https://rstyle.me/+QArX7_xlPpBGYuxNxrFzNw">this one</a>)</p>
<p><span data-amount="1" data-unit="tsp">1 tsp</span> chili powder</p>
<p><span data-amount="1" data-unit="tsp">1 tsp</span> garlic powder</p>

					    <ol>
<li id="instruction-step-1">Preheat oven to 400F</li>
<li id="instruction-step-2">Cut the brussel sprouts in half then coat with 1 tsp of olive oil. Make sure the brussels are coated pretty evenly so the spices don&#8217;t clump together.</li>
<li id="instruction-step-3">Sprinkle to chili powder and garlic powder over the brussels then add 1/4 cup of barbecue sauce.</li>
<li id="instruction-step-4">Oil a baking sheet and add the brussel sprouts to it. Bake for 40 minutes, turning halfway through.</li>
<li id="instruction-step-5">Once the brussels are done, add more bbq sauce for flavor. I used 2 tbsp to get the flavor perfect for us!</li>

<p>I&#8217;m not exaggerating when I say I&#8217;ve made this recipe 5 times in the last 2 weeks&#8230; I can&#8217;t even tell you how many pounds of Brussel sprouts I&#8217;ve consumed haha. Trust me- these spicy Brussel sprouts are ADDICTING!! My stepdad tried them today. He is pretty much a strictly meat and potatoes eater and he said they were better than chicken wings <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f609.png" alt="😉" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /></p>



<p>These brussel sprouts are pretty spicy so if you aren&#8217;t a huge spicy fan- use less sriracha. If you are a spicy fan- you just might beat my record of making these 5 times in 2 weeks because you&#8217;ll be obsessed! Made with avocado oil, sriracha, honey, garlic, and coconut aminos. Only 5 ingredients, gluten free, and soooo tasty!</p>



<p>I just discovered sriracha a few weeks ago and I&#8217;ve been adding it to EVERYTHING haha. Anyone else get obsessed with something and use it in everything?! Please tell me I&#8217;m not the only weirdo out here..</p>

<p>Add the brussel sprouts into a big bowl, add in all the spices and oil, mix it all with a spatula, spread it over a pan, bake for 45 mins, and enjoy!! Good luck not devouring them right then and there <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f609.png" alt="😉" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> </p>



<p>I love using coconut aminos instead of soy sauce in recipes because they&#8217;re packed with amino acids and gluten free! You can find them a lot of places now, I grab mine from Trader Joe&#8217;s. Use them in your favorite stir fry recipes too! </p>

<p>Now if you all haven&#8217;t seen the spiralized veggie trend in the past few years, I&#8217;d be very surprised haha. I feel like everyone spiralizes everything these days! Myself included in that! But food trends typically happen for a reason, because they taste amazing <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f609.png" alt="😉" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> These sweet potato noodles are no exception to that! They taste less noodle like than other spiralized veggies and more like curly fries.</p>



<p>I use my <a href="https://rstyle.me/n/dcjzwrchetx">KitchenAid Veggie Spiralizer</a> to make them. I like this one a lot because it makes the noodles thicker and then they don&#8217;t get as mushy/watery when you make it! <p>Okay. Back to the sweet potato noodles/ basically sweet potato curly fries. They seriously are so simple to make and to cook! You can use any spiralizer. If you aren&#8217;t ready to invest in a KitchenAid, I used this <a href="https://rstyle.me/n/dbp78cchetx">amazon spiralizer</a> for a year or so! It&#8217;s more work and you can only use small veggies on it but it gets the job done.</p>



<p>After you spiralize the sweet potato, heat a pan over medium heat. Add in avocado oil or whatever oil you prefer (enough to coat the pan). Then add in sweet potato noodles. Sauté for 10 minutes or until soft.</p>



<p>That&#8217;s it! Seriously. I paired mine with leftover Brussel Sprouts and my easy <a href="https://choosingbalance.com/6-minute-salmon/">6 minute salmon</a>. Doesn&#8217;t get easier or better than that!</p>
