20 Minute One Pan Taco Skillet
An easy One Pan Taco Skillet that’s ready in about 20 minutes! Made with ground beef, black beans, peppers, corn tortillas, and plenty of melted cheese, this simple weeknight dinner is easy to customize with extra veggies and your favorite taco toppings.

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 pound ground beef, or substitute ground turkey or chicken
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1/4 red onion, diced
- 1 (15-ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 3 tablespoons taco seasoning
- 1/4 cup taco sauce
- 2/3 cup shredded cheese, divided
- 6 corn tortillas, cut into chip-size pieces
Optional Toppings:
- Avocado
- Diced tomatoes
- Salsa
Method
- reheat the oven to 425°F.
- Heat an oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Add the oil and diced red onion. Sauté for 2–3 minutes, until the onion begins to soften.
- Add the ground beef and taco seasoning. Break the meat apart with a wooden spoon or spatula as it cooks.
- After the beef has cooked for a few minutes, add the diced bell pepper and black beans. Continue cooking for 2–3 minutes, or until the meat is completely cooked through.
- Stir in the taco sauce.
- Add half of the shredded cheese and the tortilla pieces. Stir gently until everything is combined.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheese evenly over the top.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 8–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and serve warm with avocado, tomatoes, salsa, cilantro, or your favorite taco toppings.
Notes
eel free to add extra vegetables such as diced zucchini, spinach, corn, mushrooms, or additional peppers. Ground turkey or ground chicken can easily be substituted for the ground beef. For a spicier skillet, use hot taco sauce, pepper jack cheese, or add diced jalapeños.
