I get so bored of having the same drinks, so I try to mix things up based on what’s in season! Right now, I’m craving all the fruity, light flavors. There are only 5 simple ingredients in this blackberry bourbon smash and they’re all so fresh. This is such a refreshing cocktail for spring and the warmer months. I can see us sipping this out in the backyard now that it’s staying light out for longer and it’s finally getting hot. The blackberry is a unique take on one of my favorites. Hope you enjoy!

Lemon juice

Bourbon

It’s meatless Monday today and I’m sharing the most delicious, creamy vegan buffalo mac and cheese. This mac and cheese is SO creamy, you won’t even know the difference in the textures. Plus the buffalo sauce gives it a nice kick. A fun twist on a classic dinner. It’s easily made gluten free too if you follow a gluten free diet.

Blackberry Bourbon Smash

Ingredients

1/2 cup fresh blackberries 

6 fresh mint leaves 

1 tbsp fresh lemon juice 

2 oz bourbon 

1/4 cup ginger beer

Method

In a cocktail shaker, add blackberries, mint leaves, and lemon juice. Muddle the end of a wooden spoon until fully crushed.

Add the bourbon to the shaker and then shake to combine everything .

Fill two glasses with ice. Pour the blackberry bourbon mixture into the glass. Top each glass with ginger beer.

Top the drinks with extra blackberries and mint leaves and enjoy!
