Bang Bang Shrimp
Anyone else love to order bang bang shrimp as an appetizer when you’re out to eat?! Well now you can make a healthier version at home! This bang bang shrimp recipe is gluten free and paleo! I still pan fried the shrimp but you could try air frying them instead if you want to use less oil. These shrimp make eating at home feel like you’re basically out to eat, right? For real though, it’s way cheaper to make them at home and you control the ingredients!

Raw Shrimp
Garlic
Sriracha
Chili Powder
Paprika
Salt
Oil of Choice
Bang Bang Shrimp Recipe Tips:
For this recipe, you want to use raw shrimp. You can use precooked shrimp but I think it works best with raw, uncooked shrimp!
You’ll dip the shrimp in the egg mixture then the flour mixture. I would do probably 4-5 shrimp at a time to speed this part up!
Then you’ll pan fry the shrimp in oil. I used avocado oil because of the high smoke point. It doesn’t take long from them to cook.
After they’re done, remove and put in a bowl.
Repeat until all the shrimp are done.
You’ll want them to cool a little bit before dipping in the bang bang sauce.

Bang Bang Shrimp- a gluten free, paleo, healthy dinner recipe that is ready in under 15 minutes! these shrimp are so delicious and tasty- you’d never know they were a healthier version!
Ingredients
Shrimp:
1 lb raw medium or large shrimp
1 egg
2/3 cup coconut flour
1/3 cup tapioca flour
1 tsp garlic
1/2 tsp salt
Sauce:
1/2 cup paleo mayonnaise
2 tsp sriracha
1/4 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp chili powder
1 tsp garlic
Sprinkle of salt
Method
- In a shallow bowl, whisk the egg
- In another shallow bowl, mix the flours, garlic, and salt together
- Dip the shrimp in the egg them the flour mixture. I did multiple shrimp at once
- Heat a skillet over low medium heat
- Add a generous amount of oil. I used avocado oil
- Then add the shrimp. I did two batches
- Cook for 3-4 minutes, flip, add a little more oil and cook until they’re browned
- Add to a bowl and let them cool for a few minutes
- Then in a small bowl mix the sauce ingredients.
- Dip the shrimp, I did a few at a time to speed up the process.
