Chicken Sausage Skewers

Summer is almost here and it’s time to bring out the grill! This is an easy, 15 minute recipe that is packed with veggies and flavor, and I was able to get everything from ALDI. Their Simply Nature Organic Italian Chicken Sausages are the real star of the show here. So flavorful and delicious! I love shopping with ALDI for my recipes because they make high-quality products at an affordable price. They have a great selection of organic products, affordable produce, and their Simply Nature line has a ton of organic options. Every time I to ALDI, I find a new item to obsess over like these Simply Nature Organic Chicken Sausages. They’re going to be a summer stable over here. Also, I buy all of our spices from ALDI because they have very affordable organic options.

Recipe Steps:

First, if you are using wooden skewers you need to soak 12-15 skewers in water. Soak for at least 20-30 minutes before adding the food onto them.

Then, cut the onions and peppers into thick pieces. You don’t want to dice them or they’ll be too small for the skewers. Try and cut them all relatively the same size. This makes it easier to grill them because they cook at the same time.

Add your veggies into a large mixing bowl and coat with 2 1/2 tbsp Simply Nature 100% Pure Avocado Oil. I like to use avocado oil because it has a higher smoke point so the oil doesn’t break down at higher temperatures. You can use another oil but it my cause more smoke on the grill.

In a small bowl, mix the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper and sea salt. Make sure you check out the organic spice section at ALDI to pick these up. Mix it all together before adding to the veggies.

Add the spices to the veggies and mix them together, making sure to coat all of them well.

Cut the Simply Nature Organic Chicken Sausages into about 6 pieces per sausage and add into the bowl with the veggies. Mix them in with the veggies.

Add the veggies and chicken sausages onto the skewers. You can’t really mess these up but try to leave a little room on each end to grab with tongs on the grill.

Heat your grill over medium heat. Let it heat up before adding the chicken sausage skewers onto it. You may want to grease your grill with some non-stick spray if you normally do that to avoid sticking.

Cook the skewers for 7-8 minutes. Use some tongs and flip. Then, cook for 7-8 more minutes.

Chicken Sausage Skewers {gf, easy}

Ingredients

1 packet Simply Nature Organic Chicken Sausage

2 bell peppers

2 red onions

2 1/2 tbsp Simply Nature 100% Pure Avocado Oil

1 tsp Simply Nature Organic Paprika

1 tsp Simply Nature Organic Garlic Powder

1 tsp Simply Nature Organic Onion Powder

1/2 tsp sea salt

1/2 tsp pepper

Method

  1. Soak 12-15 skewers in water

  6. Cut the Simply Nature Organic Chicken Sausages into about 6 pieces and add into the bowl with the veggies. Mix them in there.
  7. Add the veggies and chicken sausage onto the skewers, leaving a little room on each end to grab with tongs.
  8. Heat your grill over medium heat.
  9. Grease your grill if needed and then add the skewers on.
  10. Cook for 7-8 minutes, flip and cook for 7-8 more minutes.
  11. Remove and serve!
