Healthy Chicken Burgers

A delicious and healthy dinner that feels like summer. I love grilling and barbecue but sometimes it’s nice to be able to do it on the stovetop! These healthy chicken burgers were made in a grill cast iron skillet on the stovetop. The skillet allows them to have that char on the outside but also allows you to make them in the comfort of your kitchen vs outside on the grill.

Recipe Steps:

In a skillet, sauté the veggies you want to use in this recipe. You can basically substitute any veggies you have on hand. I used spinach and onions in these burgers. You could use kale, peppers, mushrooms, jalapenos, and so many others! I sautéed the veggies for 3-4 minutes in olive oil.

You’ll add the veggies into a bowl along with the chicken, feta, and spices. Mix everything together then form your burger patties. You can spray a little non stick spray on your hands to prevent the burger mixture from sticking.

I made 7 small patties. Add some olive oil to a skillet, add the burgers, and cook for 6 minutes on each side. You always want to check the internal temp of the burgers before removing to ensure they’re done cooking!

Healthy Chicken Burgers {Simple, Gluten Free}

Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken
1/4 cup feta
1/2 cup chopped spinach
1/2 onion diced
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp paprika
salt

Method

  1. Chop the spinach and dice the onion.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat, add a little oil, add the spinach and onions. Saute for about 3-4 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, mix all of the ingredients together with a spatula.
  4. Then form patties with the mixture. I made 7 patties.
  5. Heat two pans over medium heat and add olive oil then add the burgers .
  6. Made two pans of burgers but if you only have one pan you can use do two batches.
  7. Cooked for 6 minutes on each side before they were done.
  8. Always check internal temp to make sure they’re done
