BBQ Cauliflower Bites

These gluten free bbq cauliflower bites could also easily be made paleo with a paleo BBQ sauce! I always look for BBQ sauce that is lower in sugar but couldn’t find one that was 100% paleo. Still- way healthier than the sugar loaded BBQ sauce I grew up on.

It’s one of those sneaky food items that has lots of added sugar without you even thinking about it. Luckily though you can make these BBQ cauliflower bites with any sauce you want- as little or as much sugar as you want 🙂

For this recipe, I used almond flour and almond milk to keep them gluten free and mostly dairy free (I did use ghee). I prefer almond milk to dairy milk because for me personally, large amounts of dairy can make my stomach hurt. And I knew I’d want to eat large amounts of these haha. So almond milk it was 😉

I mixed almond flour, garlic, paprika, cumin, ghee, coconut aminos. and almond milk together. Then I chopped my cauliflower and coated the cauliflower in the mixture. I tried to make sure each piece was pretty evenly coated. This is the ‘breading’ part of the bites.

It looks disgusting haha. But you can see I got each piece coated pretty evenly. Then I lined a baking sheet with parchment paper and put the cauliflower on it. I baked for 20 minutes to get the breading nice and crispy on the cauliflower.

After the 20 minutes, I took the cauliflower out and brushed it with BBQ sauce. I used Annie’s organic BBQ sauce (find my other recipe with it here- BBQ stuffed sweet potatoes yummmm). It’s not sugar free but it’s relatively low in sugar!

Put the cauliflower back in the oven for 25 more minutes- I took them out after 10 minutes to move them around. I wanted mine to be really crispy though so you could get away with baking them less.

Served here with carrots, onions, and mashed avocado! We hate ranch over here so there was no way I was ruining these delicious bbq cauliflower bites with that nasty stuff haha. Jk- not to offend all of the rand diehards out there. They’re great with whatever dipping sauce you prefer 🙂

Perfect healthy super bowl snack or snack for any party! Hope you enjoy 🙂
