I may or may not have eaten these twice in the past 12 hours… oops haha. I was so excited for Eli to come home and taste test these but I ate them before he got home. Trust me- you will be tempted to devour the entire pan right away! These spicy sweet potato fries are my new favorite way to use sweet potatoes. That is, until I perfect the sweet potato donuts I’ve been working on ð
I know it’s no secret around here that I am sweet potato obsessed. Can you blame me?! First off- they taste amazing. Perfect balance between sweet and savory. Second- you can use them in sooooo many different ways! Just a few of my many sweet potato recipes- Sweet Potato Pancakes, Taco Stuffed Sweet Potatoes, Paleo Sweet Potato Waffles, and Shrimp Stuffed Sweet Potatoe
I buy a big bag of sweet potatoes every week at Aldi and then try to use them in as many different recipes as I can! They are only $1.99 or $2.99 depending on the time of year for a bag of between 6-8 sweet potatoes. Seriously you can’t beat that price!
Okay enough about sweet potatoes, let’s get to the recipe. These spicy sweet potato fries aren’t too spicy but rather just have a light spice to them. If you want more spice- add more chili powder! The key to getting these nice and crispy is to not skimp on the oil. I use avocado oil because it can be cooked at a higher heat without breaking down!
I coated my sweet potatoes in the avocado oil then in a separate bowl combined the spices and mixed together. Once the spices were combined, I added them to my sweet potatoes. Ready to go in the oven for 20 minutes!
I paired the fries with organic salsa from Aldi and mashed avocado with red pepper flakes.
This is such a delicious snack that feels a lot fancier than it is! Hope you all enjoy!! Full recipe below!
Happy Sunday my friends!
