But I wanted to make a vegan version because chickpeas are way more affordable than chicken. Also it’s fun to try new things in the kitchen, especially plant based. This dip is the perfect game day recipe! Vegan or not vegan- you’ll love this. What’s your overall favorite game day eats?! I love all the savory foods! Give me anything salty and I’m happy. That’s why I love this dip- the perfect vehicle for dipping some chips!

What You Need For This Recipe:

Can of chickpeas

Vegan Mayo of choice

Hot Sauce

Nutritional Yeast

Garlic

Dill

Onion Powder

Small Baking Dish

Recipe Tips:

For the chickpeas in this recipe, you can prepare them by either mashing them with a fork or adding them into a food processor. You don’t want to mash them completely, you want some texture still there.

Other than that, this recipe is pretty straight forward! Pair this vegan buffalo ‘chicken’ dip with pita chips, veggies, tortillas chips- whatever your heart desires.

This recipe makes a smaller batch so definitely double it if you need a bigger batch!

Vegan Buffalo "Chicken" Dip

Ingredients

1 15 ounce can of chickpeas
1/2 cup vegan Mayo
1/4 cup hot sauce
1 tbsp nutritional yeast
1/4 tsp dill
1/4 tsp garlic
1/4 tsp onion
Sprinkle of salt

Method

  1. Drain and pat dry the chickpeas
  2. You can either mash the chickpeas with a fork or chop them in a food processor.
  3. You want them to be a little chunky, not a purée.
  4. Add to a bowl with the rest of the ingredients.
  5. Mix together well with a spatula
  6. Add to a greased ramekin or small baking dish.
  7. Bake 400F for 30 mins
  8. Serve with pita chips, tortilla chips, celery, carrots, whatever you want!
