Crockpot Carne Asada Tacos 🌮 these are the perfect weeknight dinner! Recipe below!
Ingredients
1 lb lean beef chuck roast
1/2 onion, diced
Juice of 1 orange
Juice of 1 lime
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tbsp soy sauce or coconut aminos
1 tsp chile powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp oregano
Method
In a small bowl, mix together the spices
Add the roast to the slow cooker with the onion. Pour the spice mixture over the steak. Then add the lime juice, soy sauce, & orange juice
Cook on low for 6-8 hours until you can easily shred the beef. If the meat doesn’t shred easily, add it back in the crockpot for another 30 minutes, until it does shred easily. Don’t get rid of the liquid, you’ll be using it later.
Remove the beef from the slow cooker and shred using two forks.
Preheat the oven to the broil setting. Place the beef on a baking sheet. Drizzle with 1/2 cup of the cooking liquid. Broil for 8-10 minutes until the steak gets caramelized and crispy on the edges.
