When in doubt, add a sweet potato to a meal and it automatically elevates it to another level ð Made some ‘buns’ out of a thick sweet potato that paired perfectly with my grass fed burgers! Making this the perfect paleo dinner- these paleo grass fed burgers are made with just 5 ingredients and ready in 15 minutes!
The key to making these sweet potato buns is picking a sweet potato that is pretty wide. A skinny one won’t work as well because when you cut it into circles it won’t be as similar to a bun. So pick a wide sweet potato, then when you slice it make sure you slice it pretty big! Too thin and it won’t hold the burger.
For the burgers, I’ve been really focusing on high quality meats lately. I recently got a Butcher Box subscription and it seriously is a game changer! They have a variety of meat, chicken, and pork that’s all humanely raised and organic! Linking my code here for $40 off your first two boxes + free bacon!
I used their grass fed ground beef, formed burgers with adding some paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and chili powder. Cooked them in my cast iron grill which is such an easy way to grill burgers inside. Just make sure you have the fan above the oven on haha.
I don’t cook with red meat too often (here I made taco stuffed sweet potatoes and here are my paleo tacos) but it’s becoming an essential in my diet to get my iron levels up! Burgers are such a delicious way to eat them. And these burgers only take 10 minutes to cook- how can you go wrong with a quick easy meal?!
For toppings, the possibilities are limitless! I topped mine with avocado, guacamole, and onions. Salsa would be amazing too or a little bacon if you have some on hand. Whatever you choose- you can’t go wrong!
Hope you all are having a great day and enjoy this recipe!
