Oat Flour Vanilla Baked Donuts
These oat flour vanilla baked donuts are an easy and healthy gluten free breakfast! Make these at the beginning of the week and you’ll be looking forward to breakfast all week long. Anything that has sprinkles on it makes me happy haha. These donuts are baked so they’re healthier than traditional fried donuts. They also only have 1/4 cup sugar in the whole batch and the sugar comes from maple syrup. These were a hit in our house!
What You Need For This Recipe:
Old Fashioned Rolled Oats
Egg
Milk
Maple Syrup
Applesauce
Greek Yogurt
Baking Soda
Cinnamon
Vanilla
Blender
Sprinkles
I like to use a silicone donut pan, it works so much better. It’s way easier to pop donuts out of the donut pan!
Icing/Frosting:
I just used greek yogurt and sprinkles. You could make an icing out of powdered sugar + milk or melted coconut butter for a lower sugar option. I think they need some type of topping though!
You could also add other toppings besides the sprinkles. You could add chopped nuts, chocolate chips, dried fruit, a flavored greek yogurt. The options for toppings are plentiful!
Storage:
Store in the fridge for 4ish days! You don’t want to leave these oat flour vanilla baked donut on the counter, especially with the greek yogurt topping. I personally like eating them cold. I would recommend either doing a different icing besides the greek yogurt option or not heating them up. I don’t like the idea of warming up the greek yogurt. Luckily, there are other options for toppings!
