Cinnamon Sugar French Toast

Nothing brings me back to my childhood quite like French Toast. My stepdad would make it for us on Saturday mornings along with crispy bacon and big glasses of milk. Now as an adult I love remaking it and being reminded of those days! I’m sure we can all relate to not appreciating the work out families put in for our meals. Now that I’m the one doing the cooking and the dishes it gives me a whole new appreciation haha. Luckily this Cinnamon Sugar French Toast is SO worth it!

I’ve make French Toast a lot on the weekends because it’s a little more time consuming but the extra time is SO worth it. I’ve shared my  Healthy French Toast Sticks which are less messy than classic french toast! For this recipe, I used my cast iron skillet and made them on so crispy! Just make sure you use a decent amount of oil/butter/ghee to coat the pan or else they stick.

I used 5-6 slices of sourdough bread for this recipe. I like using sourdough because it’s fermented differently than regular bread so it’s easier for me to digest. Just look out for the ingredients on your sourdough- a lot of them can be filled with extra stuff you don’t need in there. Look for as minimal ingredients as possible.

I also added collagen into this recipe which is one of my favorite ways to get some extra health benefits. I personally have seen collagen help my digestion + bone/joint health. It’s totally tasteless and doesn’t change the texture of the recipe at all! I use Further Food collagen (linked here with my discount applied!) because it’s grass fed + pasture raised. So important when picking a collagen powder!

The best part of making this recipe is having tons of leftovers for the rest of the week! You can freeze them and then just pop them in the toaster when you’re in dire need 😉

My secret tip for making this French Toast next level?! Sprinkle a little bit of coconut sugar on the toast while it’s cooking in the pan- it kind of melts into the toast. Seriously a total game changer!

Hope you all enjoy this recipe as much as I did! You can save it to your Pinterest below and then scroll past for the full recipe 🙂

Happy Saturday!!
